The Annual Halloween Dog Park Dog Costume Show is Back in Person (and virtual)!

Last year, COVID-19 forced our annual dog park dog costume contest to go virtual. But this year we are back in person at the park for the usual fun and games. If you loved the virtual contest, don’t worry, we will still have a virtual contest for a “Community Favorite” too. You can participate in one or both events, with the same or different costumes. And, as always we are partnering with the Community Wellness Alliance to bring this event for all in the community to enjoy.

Learn About Dog Park Behavior

We are partnering with Patrick’s Pet Care to host a webinar about dog park behavior on Wednesday, October 20th at 7 PM.

Dog parks can be a wonderful place for your dog to get some energy out and socialize with friends. However, human intervention is sometimes necessary to keep the playing field level and fun for all dogs involved. We have to work together to keep our dogs safe and happy by being careful, responsible, and vigilant. Please join us virtually for a presentation on dog body language, play styles, and how to prevent altercations in a multi-dog environment.

Hook Hall Yappy Hour Was a Big Success

On August 17, we joined Hook Hall and District Dogs for an amazing Yappy Hour. District Dogs had a dog painting station, Kamaji Company sold treats and other pet supplies, and we collected nearly 70 signatures of support. Keep an eye out for more signature events.

Sign the Dog Park Application

The next step in making this park an official DC dog park is submitting a dog park application. We need your signatures to show that the community supports the park.

We’ll be at the park collecting signatures on the following days:

Thanks for Helping at the June Park Clean-up

Screen Shot 2021-08-19 at 10.50.37 AM.png

Thanks to everyone who came out today for the Quarterly Clean-up . We filled 9 bags with trash and debris. We also replaced the mesh on the fence to keep puppers in the park. And we also disposed of the tree boxes that somebody had removed for unknown reasons several weeks ago. The wood had started rotting, attracting rats and posed a safety concern for our doggies. Thanks also to our friends Georgia Ave Thrive for letting a us borrow the grabbers.

Halloween Walk

11th & Bark took part in the greater community Halloween celebration this year to help the community celebrate Halloween in a safe, socially distanced way. We set up a table on the sidewalk outside the dog park from 4pm to 7pm and handed out treats to the kids and the dogs. Thanks to every one who stopped by.
